Exceptional Small Nantucket Basket
This little Nantucket Basket is exceptional! It is adorned in an early, if not original, brown-painted surface. The swing handle is hand-sculpted, giving it a more refined, delicate appearance. It has a double-wrapped rim and a nicely turned wooden base. It is in very fine condition with no breaks of any kind. It does show some surface wear to the paint, however, consistent with age and use. It measures just 4 1/4" to the rim (7 1/2" to the top of the handle) with a diameter of 5 3/4". Unsigned, no label. A fine and rare example.
