Early Gameboard

This wonderful early gameboard is made out of a single board with applied edge molding. Its play surface is painted with subtle sage-grey and black squares, and the edge molding is in black. The surface shows wear, as it was obviously well used. The back of the board shows heavy oxidation with scattered scratches and an incised compass. The edge molding is applied with early nails and has areas of wear. It is one-sided and measures approximately 16 1/2" by 16 1/4" (not perfectly square).
