Fine hickory splint egg basket from the last half of the 19th century. Beautifully crafted Buttocks’ form (orschbock) egg basket with bent hoop handle, hickory splint basket with matching 3/4" wide bent hoop handle and rim with nail set and fine interlocked brace weave union, constructed with uniform thickness, shaved & tapered edge ribs, tightly lashed, beautiful dark patina from age, attributed to Pennsylvania, 10"d x 9 1/4", The basket is in excellent condition with a superb patina.
