Large Red Bench Table — The oversized top of this dual-function table was made of just two, wide boards. It measures 63 inches by 31 inches, which provides a lot of overhang for comfortable dining when the top is in its horizontal position. Raise the "scrubbed" top, using its very rare, wood hinges, and the table easily converts to a handsome settle, as shown in the first photo. The beautiful red paint is original and the table's base features mortised construction. Early 19th century.
