Fine Miniature Chest

This late Federal miniature blanket chest retains its original red painted surface, interior till, hinges, and lock mechanism.  The lid has an applied edge molding.  The case stands on nicely turned, mortised legs.  Early 19th C.  Made entirely of pine.  New England origin.  Measuring 10" tall by 11 3/4" wide by 7 1/4" deep.  There is one stable age crack in the lid.  Otherwise, it is in excellent original condition.
