End Of Day Redware Cat
This fabulous, rare redware cat is an "end-of-day" piece. It is hand-sculpted from the redware clay that was left over from pots or plates being produced at that time. It was then paint-decorated by its maker before firing. It is in very good condition with only a couple of tiny chips to the tips of the ears. The cracks that you see in the base are nothing more than firing cracks, which is typical for a solid piece of this nature during firing. A rare, one-of-a-kind piece! Measuring 5 1/2" by 4" by 3 1/2" tall.
