22-047. A superb, all original, paint decorated Pennsylvania cutlery box. Made of a hard wood with canted sides, two compartments, a center divider with cut-out hand grip, and square head nail construction. In its original blue/gray paint with cream-colored geometric designs and accents. In good, all original condition with wear to painted surfaces consistent with its age and use. The box measures approximately 14.75” long x 7.5” high. x 9.25” wide. Found in Western Pennsylvania and dating from the mid-19th century, an honest, unaltered primitive country piece.
