A Redware fat lamp. This naively potted, unsigned piece shows the hand of an amateur or perhaps part-time potter. This can be seen in the attachment of the handle and uneven glazing. Nevertheless, it was solidly made and shows good design and proportions. The lamp measures approximately 3.5” h x 5” diameter. It is from a PA Redware collection found in IN, but its origin is uncertain. However, it was most likely made in Pennsylvania. Dating from the 19th century.
