Small Burl Bowl -- The size of this burl ash bowl (5" by 2") is uncommon. The additional features that elevate this bowl to the "rare" level are: its dense, speckled grain; its dry, mellow patina; its raised "foot"; and its wonderful, incised line decoration surrounding the rim. Early 19th century. Excellent condition.
