Wrought Iron Snake (25-191)
25-191. A hand-wrought iron snake in an undulating, serpentine pose. Designed as a whimsical flint striker. It measures approximately 2.25” in diameter. Well modeled and tool decorated by a skilled blacksmith. It was found in New England and likely made in that region. The piece dates from the late-18th into early-19th century, ca. 1790-1820.
