Blue Spongeware Cup
The maker of this blue-decorated cup used a generous amount of clay — particularly in his forming of the circular "foot". The cup is 4" wide (handle excluded) and 3" high. The exterior has a solid, blue ring that is 1" down from the rim, plus a large amount of sponged-on decoration. Late 19th/early 20th century. Excellent condition.
